This wedding was incredibly special to me for so many reasons. First of all, it took place at a winery. Anyone who knows me, knows I appreciate a great glass of cabernet and not only does Europa Village produce wines that are masterpieces in their own right, but the entire venue looks like something out of a storybook. Second, this wedding allowed me to once again do something I absolutely love: travel. Every time I fly somewhere to photograph a wedding or portrait session, I have a hard time believing that it’s real life. As both a bride and professional photographer, I understand how much of an investment a wedding is, so to have someone not only invest in my photography experience but also fly me out to be apart of their story is NOT something I take for granted…EVER. In fact, it’s pretty humbling and though it may add a little more pressure, I’m wholeheartedly grateful to be able to travel the world and serve others doing what I love. But most importantly, this wedding was special to me because of the two people who were getting married. The simple fact that it was Matt and Kendall preparing to say I do…it just did something to my heart.

From the moment we finished their romantic Laguna Beach engagement session, I couldn’t WAIT for Matt and Kendall’s big day. Throughout the months, Kendall and I texted (GIFs are our love language) and emailed each other back and forth and by the time October rolled around, I could barely contain myself. Kendall..my darling friend who is as stunning on the inside as she is on the outside, was marrying the love of her life. These two are not only naturals in front of the camera, but their spirits….their spirits are so warm, genuine and JOYFUL.

If I’m going to keep it all the way real, as excited as I was for their vineyard wedding, I was also a little nervous. I was afraid I wouldn’t be able to do them justice and give them what I know in my heart they deserved. But as soon as I saw them, I just knew…this day was going to be amazing. I mean…anytime your groom comes from a baseball family and they’re equally excited about your wedding and the World Series happening on the same day, you’re bound to have a good time. But seriously, to be surrounded by such loving people who not only showered these two with love but also managed to get me out on the dance floor rejuvenated my soul.

From start to finish, working with these two has been such a gift. Their hearts are so pure and their love is so inspiring! And let’s not even mention their details!! Oh EM GEE…all the pops of colors ranging from wine red, pale peach, rose pink and navy blue was PERFECT for fall!

Altogether, Matt, Kendall and their STUUUUNNNING bridal party seriously made the day so easy and SUUUUUUPPPPERRRR FUN!

Guys, when I say their first look was absolutely perfect?! Their joy made me smile SO hard!

Matt and Kendall, I can’t thank you enough for allowing me to serve you on one of the most important days of your lives. Your joy is contagious and your day was perfect in every way! As you embark on this incredible new journey, may you always remember the covenant and the love God has given you for each other. What you have is such a blessing and I for one can’t WAIT to see where this adventure takes you.
