Pregnancy and motherhood are the most beautiful and significantly life-changing events I have ever experienced. It has taught me the important necessity of living in the moment, giving (and receiving) grace, being at peace and surrendering the things I can’t control. It’s humbled me in ways I wasn’t quite ready to be humbled and because of it, I’m a better servant.

That is why it was such a joy of mine to photograph Kascha during this particular season. She doesn’t just have the pregnancy glow…she is RADIATING the purest joy.

Ask anyone who went to UGA anytime between 2005 and 2010 and they’ll tell you the same thing I’m about to tell you:

Kascha and Henry were BUGA royalty.

During our days on campus, it was pretty rare to see one without the other and to watch their love story from the very beginning was something truly magical.  

“I actually used to stalk Henry in here,” Kascha said as I photographed the two of them in the Miller Learning Center on UGA’s campus. “If he was studying, I’d find a computer next to him.”

Like I mentioned during their engagement session back in 2014, everyone couldn’t WAIT for them to get married. They really are two imperfect people who God made perfectly for each other. Since their fabulous Nigerian Wedding and amazing white-dress ceremony, the two of them have faced many trials…like most of us married folks do. But when Kascha was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, the two of them dealt with the rounds of chemotherapy with such grace and strength. Following their journey…Kascha’s physical strength may have been tested at times, but her spirit never broke and their love only got better. Seeing how they handled such adversity is a true testament to who Henry and Kascha are as a couple, which tells me they are going to be the BEST parents to little Savannah!

Catching up during their session was so much fun! It’s actually pretty amazing to see how far we all have come since our days in Athens. We’ve gone from block parties to baby showers…from balancing academics and social lives to balancing businesses and marriages. That’s the thing I appreciate the most about these two. Henry and Kascha were the first couple who trusted me to photograph their wedding solo and being able to document every chapter of their life and be a part of capturing the legacy they are building is exactly why I do what I do. We get to grow together and cheer each other on as we live out our dreams. We’re there to support each other in every area of our lives.

To see them not only thriving in marriage and business (did I mention they run Kupcakerie, the best cupcake shop to ever exist?!), but as soon-to-be parents does my heart so good!

Because this is where their love story began, it was only fitting to come back full circle and photograph this family of three in the classic city. SOOOOOOO much has changed on campus since we were students (it’s nice to see or student fees being put to good use), but on thing remains the same:

Athens will always feel like home.

Motherhood….it’s one of the greatest gifts God can ever give a woman and Kascha I am so excited to see you as a mommy!

Henry, you are one blessed man! And Savannah…oh my darling Savannah, you couldn’t have more perfect parents to guide you through life! You are already so loved sweet girl and we can’t wait to meet you!
