Typically I

don’t blog on Sundays because it is my day of rest, but I honestly could NOT let this day go buy without acknowledging this day and WHY it is SO special! Today is my mommy’s birthday!!!

Growing up in a single-parent household can be tough as a child, but as I’ve gotten older, I’ve really began to acknowledge just how hard it must have been raise three girls on her own. She had to be strong. She had to be fearless. She had to be loving and totally dependent on Jesus. In a nutshell, that’s EXACTLY the kind of woman my mommy is.

My mom is not only THE most beautiful woman I know, she is also the strongest woman I know. Throughout my 27 years of life, she has been my teacher, my cheerleader…my latest and greatest inspiration. She has instilled in me core values of faith, integrity and love, taught me the power of adventure and has always pushed my toward my dreams…even when she didn’t understand them. As her firstborn, I’m sure there were times we were learning together. Believe me, there were plenty of times growing up where we bumped heads, but it is because of her that I’m the woman I am today. The lessons she’s taught me and still teaches me, will stay with my forever. She is the true essence of a Proverbs 31 woman and no matter how old I get, I will always want to be just like her when I grow up.
