I've been keeping journals since I was in the 3rd grade and I'm so glad to share some of my most intimate life moments with you here!  Here, you'll find inspirational and encouraging stories of me and other broken people like me. We are all jars of clay who have been afflicted in every way, but not crushed...struck down by not destroyed.  Here, you do NOT have the right to remain silent, so as you read, grab your favorite snack and drink and leave a comment...share YOUR story. I can't wait to connect with you in this beautiful safe space.

welcome to my

journal!

My Journey

MORE THAN A CROSS| LIFE BEHIND MY LENS | SACHEL SAMONE

I’m not sure exactly when it happened, but sometime this year, I became obsessed with crosses.

Literally, putting my bracelet and ring on every morning is just as necessary as my shoes. Yes, they’re super cute, but when I look down at them throughout the day, I see Jesus. To me, those pieces of jewelry…those blinged out little crosses, mean so much.

Those little crosses represent Jesus’ love for me.

Jesus… this AMAZING man came down from Heaven to DIE for me. He literally left his VERY comfortable throne to come down here to be taunted, tested and sacrificed. They stretched his arms beyond what was humanly possible, placed a crown of thrones on his head, nailed his hands to this cross AND LEFT HIM TO DIE.

And on that cross, He died for you and me. On that cross, He sacrificed himself for all of humanity.  Even though Jesus knew there were people who were going to reject His love, curse His name and worship false Gods, He died for them anyway.

That cross represents the most selfless act anyone has ever done. I’ve never seen this man’s face and yet…He died for me.

And He died for you too.

That type of love just leaves me…breathless.

That cross also represents the process. Even though Jesus died on that cross, the cross was just part of His journey. After He died, they placed Jesus’ body in the tomb, but after 3 days, He had risen. The cross was not an end-all for Jesus…just like where I am in my life is not an end-all for me. Just like where you are in your life is not an end-all for you.

Throughout this week, I’ve been reminding myself to just focus on and enjoy the journey  and no matter how ancy I become or how anxious I can get, when I look down at the cross I remember to sit back, enjoy the journey and know that no matter what, JESUS. LOVES. ME.

When I look down at these crosses, I see a love beyond my understanding and a brighter tomorrow.

Yea, they’re super cute, but when I look down at them throughout the day, I see Jesus. To me, those pieces of jewelry…those blinged out little crosses…..well, they just mean SO much.

P.S. Jesus is SO head over heels in love with you!! Have you accepted Him into your life as your Lord and Savior? If you haven’t, would you like to? Believe me…it’s SOOOOOOO easy. All you have to do is believe in your heart and confess with your mouth that Jesus died on the cross for your sins  and rose from the dead, you will be saved. That’s it. No pomp or circumstance. You just have to believe in Him.

Salvation is a priceless gift from God that allows you to spend an eternity with Him in Heaven. If you feel you’ve done too many bad things and made too many mistakes to be loved by God and forgiven by Him, you’re SO wrong. He doesn’t care about your age, financial status, whether you’re a liar, thief, adulterer, murderer or addict. When you truly repent in your heart and welcome Him into your life, you’re forgiven. Period.

If you’re ready to embark on that journey, say this prayer out loud:

Dear Lord,

I am here before you today, acknowledging to You that I am a sinner and I need your forgiveness.

I believe that your Son Jesus Christ shed His blood on the cross at Calvary and died for me.

Right now, I confess Jesus as my Lord and Savior. With my heart, I believe that you raised Jesus from the dead and He now sits at your right hand. I welcome Jesus into my heart. At this very moment, I am saved.

Transform my life so that I may bring glory and honor to you and you alone.

Thank you Jesus for dying for me and giving me eternal life.

In Your name I pray,

Amen.

If you just prayed that prayer, congratulations!! I’m so excited for you! May God enrich you from this day forward and you never forget the power of the cross. Welcome to the family. 🙂

Happy Resurrection Sunday!!!
