I've been keeping journals since I was in the 3rd grade and I'm so glad to share some of my most intimate life moments with you here!  Here, you'll find inspirational and encouraging stories of me and other broken people like me. We are all jars of clay who have been afflicted in every way, but not crushed...struck down by not destroyed.  Here, you do NOT have the right to remain silent, so as you read, grab your favorite snack and drink and leave a comment...share YOUR story. I can't wait to connect with you in this beautiful safe space.

welcome to my

journal!

Encouragement, Life Behind My Lens, personal

September 15, 2014

THANK YOU |LIFE BEHIND MY LENS| SACHEL SAMONE | LOVE & PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHER

There are times when I feel like I’m not doing enough. There are times when I feel like I’m not good enough and the mistakes I’ve made far outweigh the success I’ve experienced….You ever feel like that?

It seems that when I’m feeling like that, something will always happen to me where Jesus literally slaps me across the face and gives me the ultimate side eye.

And when I take a step back to see how far I’ve come on this journey, all I can say is…

Thank You Jesus.

Over the weekend, I traveled to Delaware to second shoot a wedding and have a portrait session. It was literally an opportunity that fell into my lap. While driving back yesterday, I began to reflect on the many opportunities God has given me over the past year…including this one. I mean…here I am driving back from DELAWARE. AFTER SHOOTING A WEDDING AND HAVING A PORTRAIT SESSION.

Since starting this business last year, I’ve been blessed to capture beauty and love across the east coast, the west coast and a few states in between. I’ve had the honor of being published and seen my work in print. I’ve connected with some of the most beautiful souls to walk the planet, captured the true essence of a 1 Corinthians 13 kind of love, met women I’ve admired for years, helped women to recognize the beauty they possess and made amazing friends along the way. Don’t get it twisted… I’m not sharing this to brag. I’m merely sharing it to celebrate the power of Jesus in my life.

I have NO doubt in my mind that I would have not accomplished any of these things without Him. Looking at all the doors He’s opened and how He’s blessed me over and over again, even when I felt like I don’t deserve it,  is mind-blowing.

As a bit of a control freak, relinquishing all control to Him has been (and sometimes still is) hard, but let me tell you: as hard as it is to do sometimes, it has been rewarding every time.

I know this is a photography website and this is my business, but because God is all throughout my business, I HAVE to share this with all of you. This weekend was a such beautiful reminder of just how true Philippians 4:13 is in my life. I really can do all things through Christ who strengthens me and you know what?

So can you.

Whatever you’re going through or whatever you’re preparing yourself to experience in the coming days, weeks or months, never forget you’re not alone. You can achieve ANYTHING when you find the strength to be vulnerable with Jesus and submit to Him.

I started this business with nothing more than a camera, two lenses, a lot of passion and a vision. I had NO idea where this determination was going to take me and if I can be honest, I still don’t know. All I know is that this is just the beginning.

More will definitely be coming to the blog from my time in Delaware, but for now, I have to prepare for the TWO weddings I have this weekend…that’s right TWO!  Whew..talk about me being EXCITED!

I pray we all have an amazing week as we take time to just thank Him! May blessings shower down on all of you 🙂
