I really, really, REALLY want to do a photo shoot BUUUUUUUUUUT…

Whew girl…I need to lose some weight first! 

See…the way my wardrobe is set up….

I’m no model.

I don’t know how to pose!!

 I don’t look like ANY of the women on your site!!

Yada, Yada, Yada, Yada, Yah……

Any of these sound familiar? I know they do because at LEAST one you has said them to  me over the past several months.  

Can I be honest?

ALL OF THESE ARE EXCUSES….and I am sick and tired of hearing them!!!  

You are by far one of THE most beautiful people walking the planet, so let me tell you why you MUST do a photo shoot:

1. YOU WILL NEVER BE AS BEAUTIFUL AS YOU ARE RIGHT HERE AND RIGHT NOW. 

Take those Hollywood standards of beauty that are swimming around in your head and throw them out the window. You don’t have to be a stick figure in order to be considered beautiful. You don’t have to lose weight in order to have portraits taken. This moment in time…where you are right now is a culmination of many blessings and lessons learned. You are in the prime of your life and I don’t care if you don’t fit into the cookie-cutter idea of beauty. The truth is your beauty can’t be defined…but it most certainly deserves to be captured. 

2. IT’S ABOUT YOU. NOT THE CLOTHES.

This is one of my favorite parts of my job…playing dress up! It doesn’t matter if you’re wearing a trash bag, THE CLOTHES DON’T MAKE YOU. YOU MAKE THE CLOTHES. It’s not the fancy clothes and jewelry that make the woman. It’s your spirit. With every portrait shoot comes a consultation, where together, you and I pull items from your closet or my wardrobe inventory for you to play in. Trust me when I say: you can  make jeans a white tee can look amazing. If that’s what is holding you back, simply put…don’t let it. I don’t need you to have the closet of Carrie Bradshaw. All I need is you…come as you are and believe me, we will create something beautiful.

3. I’M NOT LOOKING FOR MODELS…I’M LOOKING FOR YOU. 

I am a women’s portrait photographer. I love to photograph ALL women. Short, tall, apple bottoms, curves and everything in between. NONE of us are supermodels. We are wives, soon-to-be-wives, sisters, mothers, granddaughters, business women, dream chasers and yes…even sleep-deprived. But you know what? We are super in our own right. You may not feel like you’re good enough to get in front of my lens, but believe me when I say…YOU ARE.  I don’t need to photograph celebrities to have breathtaking portraits. I need to photograph you and capture your beauty. Period. Point. Blank.

4. KNOWING HOW TO POSE IS FOR AMATEURS. 

I think it’s actually a good thing you don’t know how to pose. Truthfully, I don’t want you to know how to pose. When you come to see me with those ideas of what makes a good pose engrained in your head, we begin to but heads because all I want you to do is relax and all you want to do is look pretty. One of the good things about me literally throwing myself into learning as much as I can is that I’ve learned a lot about posing. It doesn’t matter your body shape. I will work to pose you in the most flattering way at all times, allowing your inner and outer beauty to shine as bright as it can. 🙂 

5. YOU DESERVE TO BE THE CENTER OF ATTENTION.

You looking like the women on my website isn’t the goal. You being the best version of YOU is the goal. There is no need for you to compare yourself to anyone else. Once my hair and makeup team enhances your natural beauty, the last thing you’ll be worried about is the women on my website. Remember this experience is all about you. 

There is no better time than right now to capture the very essence of you. 20 years from now you’re going to want to show your kids that you’ve always been FINE!! You’re going to want sit back and relive the memories of where you were in life and celebrate the woman you’ve grown into.  It is BECAUSE of these reasons that you deserve to feel like the beautiful woman you are for a day.

If you’re seriously on the fence and allow yourself to keep coming up with excuses, you’ll look up and realize 3 decades have passed and the only professional images you have of yourself are those from your wedding. Girlfriend… you deserve more. Don’t rob yourself or your family of the opportunity to have images of you. They are priceless treasures that I believe we all should have.

Come see me and get ready to have one of the best days of your life. You can bring your sister, your mom, your best friend or even your daughter. But PLEASE:
