I've been keeping journals since I was in the 3rd grade and I'm so glad to share some of my most intimate life moments with you here! Here, you'll find inspirational stories of clients, my journey as a wife and first-time mother and other adventures I have that makes my world go 'round. So please, sit back, grab some coffee ( or my personal favorite, a good ol' fashioned Arnold Palmer!) and enjoy exploring my latest work! Thanks for stopping by and happy reading!
The longer I live in this area, the more I fall in love with it and all the amazing people that make the peninsula such an incredibly special place.
These people, like me, truly love what they do and by them sharing a little bit of what inspires them, I hope that it inspires you.
Which brings me to….SCRATCH BAKERY.
Anyone who knows me, knows I love to eat, so this feature….mmmmhmmm can you say HEAVEN??!
Mrs. Lashonda Sanford opened Scratch Bakery in 2011. Structuring it as the old-fashioned, hometown bakery where you can go in and get all things good, Scratch Bakery is more than just a place where you go in for a cupcake…or three.
Originally from Kentucky, Lashonda would walk by bakeries as a child. When she got older and her favorite bakery here shut down, she was faced with the task of making an Elmo face cake for her daughter’s birthday. After researching and seeking help, the cake was success and the rest is history.
“My daughter Leah, is definitely one of the main inspirations behind Scratch Bakery,” said Lashonda.
She starts everyday off with prayer and wants her customers to know that Scratch Bakery is a place where God is put first.
“I want them to feel love and for the joy I experience to be contagious with all my customers.”
Making an average of 20-30 cakes per weekend and 18-20 flavors of cupcakes a day, wedding cakes start at $3.50 a slice for butter cream and up for fondant and other special request.Wedding cakes require a 4 week notice.
After visiting with Lashonda I walked away knowing one thing. When you visit Scratch Bakery, you’re not just a customer. You’re a part of her family.
For more information, please visit her website and Facebook page and if you’re ever in Port Warwick, stop in, say hello and order yourself a little piece of heaven.
Tell her Sachel sent you 😉
