I've been keeping journals since I was in the 3rd grade and I'm so glad to share some of my most intimate life moments with you here!  Here, you'll find inspirational and encouraging stories of me and other broken people like me. We are all jars of clay who have been afflicted in every way, but not crushed...struck down by not destroyed.  Here, you do NOT have the right to remain silent, so as you read, grab your favorite snack and drink and leave a comment...share YOUR story. I can't wait to connect with you in this beautiful safe space.

welcome to my

journal!

2016: Let's Do This, Encouragement, Faith

March 25, 2016

PUT THE GOOD IN GOOD FRIDAY!!

It’s Good Friday!!

If you’ve been following me for a while, you know I’m pretty much obsessed with Jesus. If you’re just now joining my little community, I have a confession to make to you:

I’m pretty much obsessed with Jesus.

My faith plays a HUGE role in who I am as a woman, wife and business owner and around this time of year, I can’t help but really take time to just relish in who Jesus is to me.

On Good Friday, believers across the world reflect on the death of our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ. For me, I imagine witnessing Him being beaten, mocked and ridiculed. I cringe at the thought of nails being driven into his hands and hung on a cross. He endured excruciating pain..all because He loved us. He literally came to this earth, to die, so that we may live.

PUT THE GOOD IN GOOD FRIDAY

Sometimes I sit and think what makes me so special that he would give His life for me. I’m nowhere close to being perfect. I can be selfish at times, make tons of mistakes…a hot mess. But I guess that’s why. God doesn’t need us to be picture perfect, He doesn’t need us to have it all together. He died for us because He loves us in spite of our mess, our mistakes and our selfish ways. I don’t know about you, but that kind of unconditional love just leaves me speechless.

While thinking about the way He died may make me cringe, thinking about what happened next makes me dance. Because He died and rose, we have permission to live, move and have our being.  If knowing that doesn’t make today a Good Friday, then I don’t know what will.

So as you go through today, put the Good in Good Friday! Don’t let anyone’s negativity get to you. Don’t get down on yourself or allow yourself to be robbed of your joy. If you believe Jesus died so that you may live, then LIVE! Don’t just exist or go through life going through the motions. If you do that, then His death goes in vain. Chase your dreams, feed that passion He’s placed inside of you and remember you don’t have to be perfect. Make room in your life for the grace and love He has for you and enjoy the journey He has you on. 🙂

Happy Good Friday and have a Wonderful Resurrection Sunday!!
