I've been keeping journals since I was in the 3rd grade and I'm so glad to share some of my most intimate life moments with you here!  Here, you'll find inspirational and encouraging stories of me and other broken people like me. We are all jars of clay who have been afflicted in every way, but not crushed...struck down by not destroyed.  Here, you do NOT have the right to remain silent, so as you read, grab your favorite snack and drink and leave a comment...share YOUR story. I can't wait to connect with you in this beautiful safe space.

welcome to my

journal!

LET YOUR FAITH BE BIGGER THAN YOUR FEAR | FROM THE DESK OF SACHEL SAMONE

FAITH IS A POWERFUL THING.

Over the past week, I’ve been really…quiet. Quiet on social media, quiet at home, quiet among my family and girlfriends…I’ve just been overwhelmed with the desire to be….quiet. During my quiet time, the one thing I did do was attend a webinar with Lara, whose powersheets have really been pushing me to grow. During the webinar, we talked about seasons and how the seasons of our lives can really shape us into who we are. As I sat there quietly, every once in a while participating in the group chat, I begin to wonder what season I was in and almost instantly, it came to me:

WINTER.

During winter, there are no leaves on the trees. The ground around us is bare and almost all of us are drawn inside, where we can keep warm. It’s a time of stillness, a time to reflect on the progress we’ve made and prepare our hearts, souls and minds for the rebirth of spring that lies ahead. While most people may see winter as a bad season to be in, to be perfectly honest, it’s probably one of the BEST seasons to be in. By being still, we’re allowed to really focus on the things that matter and hear the voice of God without any distractions. It also forces us to take a long hard look at ourselves and deal with the things that may have been holding us back from achieving the things we really wanted to. It forces us to focus on the fear.

Fear can be a paralyzing thing. Seriously…it sucks. But if you let it take complete control of you, you’ll never move. Time will pass you by and you’ll be left with nothing but “should, coulda, wouldas.” Life is too short to just exist. Don’t give the fear the satisfaction of limiting you to a life of simply existing. Let God grow your faith and open you up to a life of LIVING. You know those dreams you have? You know those things you’ve always wanted to do? Honey you can’t accomplish them with fear. You gotta have faith…even if it as a small as a mustard seed.

FAITH THE SIZE OF A MUSTARD SEED | LET YOUR FAITH BE BIGGER THAN YOUR FEAR | SACHEL SAMONE PHOTOGRAPHY

I keep this bowl of mustard seeds on my desk to remind me on the days that I’m just oozing fear that NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE FOR ME. God has given me and you everything we need in order to bear purposeful fruit. EVERY. SINGLE. THING. These mustard seeds are TINY and if He tells me my faith, even if it is just the size of these little seeds, has the power to move mountains, then the only conclusion I can come to is in those moments where I’m filled with doubt and comparison, I’m standing in my own way. You…me…WE don’t have time to make excuses for our fear. Justifying it will only kill our purpose. Instead, I encourage you to focus on your faith. Don’t let fear paralyze you. GET UP AND LET YOUR FAITH BE BIGGER THAN YOUR FEAR.

If you’re struggling with fear…fear of any kind, I want you to know that you are not alone. I know the winters can be cold and emotionally draining. There may be days you just want to throw your hands up in the air and scream “THAT’S IT! I GIVE UP!” But the truth is, during this winter season, God is pruning you and preparing the soil of your heart to bring forth a bountiful harvest in the coming seasons. Your spring is going to bring you the freshest breath of air you’ve ever had…but you have GOT to 1. stay connected to Him and 2. get out of your own way. Allow God to move in you during this season and I dare I say…ENJOY IT!! Don’t try to rush your winter because it’s too hard. Your fruit will grow in its own time. If you allow your soil to be fertilized the right way the first time…trust me it will save you A LOT of work later.

On a serious note..the world needs your gifts. The world needs your talents, your passions and your love. As you endure this winter, even in the hard moments, trust in Him and trust that He has a plan for your life. Remove the doubt. Remove the fear. Surrender to Him and for goodness sake…let your FAITH BE BIGGER THAN YOUR FEAR.
