I've been keeping journals since I was in the 3rd grade and I'm so glad to share some of my most intimate life moments with you here!  Here, you'll find inspirational and encouraging stories of me and other broken people like me. We are all jars of clay who have been afflicted in every way, but not crushed...struck down by not destroyed.  Here, you do NOT have the right to remain silent, so as you read, grab your favorite snack and drink and leave a comment...share YOUR story. I can't wait to connect with you in this beautiful safe space.

welcome to my

journal!

PROOF OF YOUR LOVE | BEHIND MY LENS | SACHEL SAMONE

With Spring, comes clarity.

With clarity, comes new beginnings.

A week ago, I took an old cork board that wasn’t getting much use and turned it into a chalkboard with a pearl border!! Because you know…EVERYTHING is betterwith pearls..even when you place EVERY SINGLE PEARL…ONE AT A TIME.

Each week, the word or phrase written on it will change and it’s hanging right by my door so it’s the last thing I see before I head out to take on the world and the first thing I see when I walk in the door.

Last week’s word was Peace. I spent all of last week meditating on John 14:27 where Jesus says “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.”

No matter what happened to me last week, no matter what I endured, my goal was to not let it take away my peace.

This week’s phrase?

Inspired by my ABSOLUTE favorite song right now “The Proof of Your Love” by doe King & Country, I chose this particular phrase because I want everything I do and everything that leaves my mouth to show others God’s love.  After all, no matter what I say, no matter what I believe, no matter what I do, I am bankrupt without love. I can be the sweetest person and say the sweetest things, but if I say them without love, what good are they?

I can sometimes have facial expressions that say waaaayyyy more than I want them to. But I realize that even if I say something nice, but say it without love, I’m doing so much injustice to those I’m speaking to.  Jesus was talked down to, cursed at and mocked, yet His love for people never wavered. He is who I strive to look like. He is who I strive to be like. For that reason alone, I desire my life to be proof of His love.

Sometimes people will push you to the limit and make you want to act out of character. Sometimes… you just want to blow up and curse someone out. But in those moments, I challenge you to show love. We all have moments where we need a little extra love and you never know what that person can be going through. Remember, a little love can go SO far.

It will be my goal this week to anger even slower, speak with kindness, continue to be peaceful, show patience and do everything in love. I encourage you all to do the same. Don’t fall into the gossip trap. Don’t let anyone push you to the point of no return.  Remember the love that Christ shows you and pay it forward to others. After all, wouldn’t this world be so much better with a little more love??

Let’s all live, this week and every week, a life that shows others the beauty of God’s love.
