I've been keeping journals since I was in the 3rd grade and I'm so glad to share some of my most intimate life moments with you here! Here, you'll find inspirational stories of clients, my journey as a wife and first-time mother and other adventures I have that makes my world go 'round. So please, sit back, grab some coffee ( or my personal favorite, a good ol' fashioned Arnold Palmer!) and enjoy exploring my latest work! Thanks for stopping by and happy reading!
This is my mother. For those who don’t know, her name is Terry. She is an incredibly strong woman of God. A cheerleader. She loves to travel and is passionate about life. She is an encourager….a nurturer. She loves her children and has a heart of gold. And did I mention she was a member of the 50+ and Fabulous club?! I know…my mom is STUNNING.
Every year, I photograph my mother because…quite honestly, she is the most important woman in my life. Selfies don’t do her justice. She is the love of Jesus personified. She is light…a force of nature. My mother is a single mom who raised three daughters. The strength and wisdom she has exuded over the years has made such an impact on my life. It is because of her that I have the courage to be me…to celebrate who I am as a woman. Growing up, there were times where we didn’t always get along, but as I have gotten older, she has become one of my closest friends. The lessons she has taught me over the years has made me eternally grateful to God for allowing her to be my mom.
I capture my mother because I believe that she, like all mothers, deserves to exist in photographs. These portraits are just as much of a gift to her as they are to my sisters and me. These portraits capture the light and beauty she has within. My mother has an amazing spirit and I feel like as children we deserve portraits that can last throughout generations that show her spirit. These portraits are part of her legacy.
I love seeing her growth…her wisdom…her heart. I treasure this woman. She is one of my greatest inspirations and capturing her is one of the many ways I give back to the woman who has given me so much.
This is my mother. Her name is Terry. She is a woman of God. She is strong. She is passionate. She is an encourager…she is a lover of life…and in her, I see me.
Love you mama.
