I've been keeping journals since I was in the 3rd grade and I'm so glad to share some of my most intimate life moments with you here! Here, you'll find inspirational stories of clients, my journey as a wife and first-time mother and other adventures I have that makes my world go 'round. So please, sit back, grab some coffee ( or my personal favorite, a good ol' fashioned Arnold Palmer!) and enjoy exploring my latest work! Thanks for stopping by and happy reading!
A few months back, Sachel had mentioned she was looking for a makeup artist to work with for a photoshoot that she was putting together. After finding out it was a boudoir shoot, which is right up my alley, I reached out! Immediately we went into furious planning.
We instantly clicked and after one or two conversations, I knew it was going to be a really awesome event.
Being that the shoot was Christmas-themed, we decided that we were gonna throw some greens into the eye makeups that we were using, giving them a really festive, yet sexy look!
As the women begin to arrive, you could tell they were nervous, and probably had a million things on their mind.
They sat down in my chair and I went to work. I was hoping the time spent in my chair afforded each of them some time to unwind. My hope came true.
The great thing of any makeup, especially makeup for boudoir, is the reaction received once applied.
“Wow!” – “Oh THAT is cool!” – “Wait, is that me?! Oh my gosh, I love it!” and of course “how did you DO that?!”
It makes me feel good to know that I can help make women feel beautiful.
Another great thing about doing this kind of makeup is that it affords the opportunity for the photographer and the makeup artist to work together in fulfilling the role of “Creative Director.” It’s rare that you find a fellow artist you just click with. For some amazing reason, unknown to me – Sachel and I were able to effortlessly follow each other’s vision! We had such a good time working together…laughing and listening to music that we are able to trust each other.
Once we combined the artistry of me with the artistry of a Sachel, these ladies glowed and I believe they glowed because they found themselves in the most capable and most creative of hands.
I am so happy to have had the chance to spend with Sachel! It was so much fun and I look forward to many more sessions with her!!
