I've been keeping journals since I was in the 3rd grade and I'm so glad to share some of my most intimate life moments with you here!  Here, you'll find inspirational and encouraging stories of me and other broken people like me. We are all jars of clay who have been afflicted in every way, but not crushed...struck down by not destroyed.  Here, you do NOT have the right to remain silent, so as you read, grab your favorite snack and drink and leave a comment...share YOUR story. I can't wait to connect with you in this beautiful safe space.

welcome to my

journal!

Hello March.

This morning, as I was just beginning to wake up, my little one walked into my room, looked at Alexa, and said, “Mommy, look! It’s a new month! I wonder what March will bring.”

Such simple, sweet words—yet so insightful. They guided our morning devotion time, leading us to Isaiah 43:18-19:

“Do not remember the past events; pay no attention to things of old. Look, I am about to do something new; even now it is coming. Do you not see it? Indeed, I will make a way in the wilderness, rivers in the desert.” (CSB)

As we talked about spring and all the possibilities of what God might do this month, it was the last part of verse 19 that truly stood out to me: “I will even put a road in the wilderness, rivers in the desert.”

What excites me most about this promise is what I believe God is saying—He can and WILL do the impossible. He will do the unexpected in the most unexpected places. But for us to experience this newness, we must stop dwelling on the past. We can’t move forward if we’re stuck replaying old failures, mistakes, or disappointments. God is calling me…calling US to shift our focus—to look ahead and trust Him. Because where He’s trying to take us leaves no room for distractions.

I love how God continues to give fresh revelation through His Word. Even though I’ve read this verse countless times, today, it spoke to me in a new way. The Word is living and breathing, always meeting us right where we are. Isn’t that simply amazing?!?

This truth became even more real to me as I reflected on a recent trip I took to the desert. As I walked through the dry, barren land, I was captivated by its breathtaking beauty. But even as I reflected on its vastness, one thought struck me—I couldn’t imagine a river there. It seemed impossible, unnatural, unfitting. And yet, that is exactly what God promises. He brings streams to the driest places, life to the most desolate spaces, and hope where we thought there was none.

Friend, as we step into March, let’s commit to holding on to this promise. Let’s turn the page on what was and open our hearts to the new thing God is doing in this chapter. Even in the places that feel dry, in the situations that seem unchangeable, God is working. He is making a way where there is no way. He is bringing refreshment to the weary. Renewal to the broken-hearted. Restoration to the dreams that have been long forgotten. He is the God of the unexpected. So expect the miraculous.

Welcome, March. God, whatever you have in store for us….we’re ready.
