I've been keeping journals since I was in the 3rd grade and I'm so glad to share some of my most intimate life moments with you here!  Here, you'll find inspirational and encouraging stories of me and other broken people like me. We are all jars of clay who have been afflicted in every way, but not crushed...struck down by not destroyed.  Here, you do NOT have the right to remain silent, so as you read, grab your favorite snack and drink and leave a comment...share YOUR story. I can't wait to connect with you in this beautiful safe space.

welcome to my

journal!

CHOOSING TO STAND IN THE SUNSHINE | INTERNATIONAL DAY OF HAPPINESS

I woke up

this morning in THE most cheerful mood. Sure it was raining outside and I wasn’t physically feeling 100% like myself, but the joy in my heart was undeniable.

Life is hard. There are all kinds of roadblocks, twists and turns that we all have endured, are enduring right now and will endure. But do this one thing: put your hand over your heart. You feel that beating happening in your chest? That is what you call purpose. That is what you call grace and mercy. If you’re reading this blog right now that means you are alive…breathing air into your lungs and witnessing another day. Honey listen…if you have NOTHING else to be happy about…THAT is worth being happy about!!

There are so many thoughts and quotes that come to mind when I think about being happy, but this one really sticks out to me in this moment:

“I was smiling yesterday, I am smiling today and I will smile tomorrow. Simply because life is too short to cry for anything that’s worthless.”

Being happy is a choice. You can either choose to be negative all the time and let all the curveballs of life hit you in the face OOOOORRRRRRR….you can choose to stand in the sun, feel the warmth of the sun on your face and smile through it all. If it’s one thing I’ve learned over the recent years, it’s that life is WAY too short to cry over things that don’t matter in the grand scheme of things. Life is way too short to be filled with doubt and spread your negativity to others. Life is too short to be a grinch.

So no matter what happens today, tomorrow or 3 weeks from now…choose to be happy. Stand in the sunshine and SMILE.

I promise….you look so much better when you do. 🙂

Happy International Day of Happiness lovebugs!!
