I've been keeping journals since I was in the 3rd grade and I'm so glad to share some of my most intimate life moments with you here!  Here, you'll find inspirational and encouraging stories of me and other broken people like me. We are all jars of clay who have been afflicted in every way, but not crushed...struck down by not destroyed.  Here, you do NOT have the right to remain silent, so as you read, grab your favorite snack and drink and leave a comment...share YOUR story. I can't wait to connect with you in this beautiful safe space.

welcome to my

journal!

BE THANKFUL| WORD OF THE WEEK | SACHEL SAMONE | LOVE & PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHER

Yesterday, I directed and captured four of the most beautiful women. After seven hours of nonstop shooting, while on the way home, I started reflecting on my past few days and I couldn’t help but feel so proud of myself. Now don’t get me wrong, I was exhausted, but in the midst of me being tired and excited, I took some time to just:

In the world we live in, we are going to have all kinds of problems, frustrations and difficulties. That’s just life. In the midst of my bad days (because yes I have bad days), it’s important for me to remember this. Sometimes we can focus so much on the fact that we aren’t where we want to, we forget to celebrate how far we’ve come. God has blessed me so much within the past month alone that I literally do not have time to focus on the negative. All I want to do is just be praise Him for bringing me to this very moment in my journey.

During this week, no matter what you’re going through, no matter what you experience…BE THANKFUL. That trial may be happening in your life to teach you something and make you better…BE THANKFUL. Instead of worrying about what you don’t have…BE THANKFUL. You may be experience a pain that feels so unbearable you may be tempted to take your eyes off God. Stay focused and stay thankful.  From personal experience, I know it can be really hard to do (especially when you feel like you can’t see the light at the end of the tunnel), but I also know the peace and joy of having a grateful heart. Being truly thankful can be a greater weapon than we realize. So in your moments of despair, stress…when you feel yourself begin to feel depressed or overwhelmed…

STOP.

PAUSE.

TAKE A DEEP BREATH.

AND SAY…

THANK YOU LORD.

Say it over and over again if you have to. I can’t guarantee it’ll immediately make you feel better, but I can tell you that you slowly begin to be changed from the inside out. 🙂

Here’s a sneak peak from my shoot yesterday!!
